Bad Weight-Weenie

So we were sitting around eating dinner last night and Erica looks at my new digital scale and points out that I never took some foam packaging off of it. I had definitely not noticed this, so I look up and sure enough there are two small foam strips underneath the weight platform that would act as springs whenever an object is being weighed.

I'd been thinking for the past week or two that everything I own seemed amazing in terms of weight. Bikes weighing 16.5 lbs, stems at 135g, saddles at 200g, everything seemed really high-end.

Of course as soon as Erica pointed this out I had to weigh everything. I threw the "205g" seat on the scale and it weighed 245g, 20% more! I ripped the bike bag off of myOrbea and took off the water bottle, 18.1 lbs. That sucks, 18 lbs isn’t nearly as cool as 16 lbs!
